Personal Fundraising

  • Canning

    • Canning is where Miracle Makers stand at popular intersections in Austin with buckets and signs, trying to elicit donations from cars stopped at the intersection or pedestrians walking by. Cannings are a great and easy way to fundraise in a matter of a few hours, either solo or as a group! 

    • The most important thing about canning is a positive attitude and kindness! Remember, anyone can be a donor!

  • Make your own fundraiser:

    • Find something you are passionate about!

Here are some examples:

  • Bake sale

  • An at-home pancake night

  • Ask for donations for your birthday

  • Sell school supplies

  • Lemonade stand

  • Pop-up shop or garage sale (virtual or in person)

  • Design and sell t-shirts

  • Host a raffle for gift cards

  • Make crafts or food for specific holidays

  • Prepare for the Fundraiser

    • Depending on the fundraiser, prepare your baked goods, crafts, event, etc accordingly

    • Consider doing a fundraiser with other THON members (splitting the responsibility makes things easier and more fun!)

    • Create graphics and publicize your fundraiser on social media!

    • Create posters and get decorations
